AIDA 2

BEGINNER FREEDIVER

From breathwork to rescue — your next step in becoming a skilled freediver.

Learn to Freedive with Confidence

The AIDA 2 course is open to first-time freedivers as well as confident swimmers or snorkelers. It’s the ideal way to build solid foundations, improve your comfort in the water, and become a certified buddy-level freediver.

What will you learn?

In the AIDA 2 course, you’ll gain a deep understanding of freediving principles and build real in-water skills through theory, pool, and open water sessions. The focus is on safety, control, and comfort — all the essentials to become a confident freediver.

You will learn:

  • Breathing and relaxation techniques to extend your breath-hold

  • Duck dives, finning, and streamlining for efficient movement

  • Equalisation methods for deeper, more comfortable dives

  • Safe buddy system procedures and rescue techniques

  • Static and dynamic apnea in the pool

  • Free immersion and constant weight dives in open water

  • Recovery breathing and dive planning basics

By the end of the course, you'll aim to achieve: 2 minutes of static apnea (breath-hold at the surface), 40 meters of dynamic apnea (underwater swimming in the pool), a constant weight dive between 12–20 meters in open water.

All morning sessions take place at the Surf Hotel, where we have access to a classroom, pool, and shower facilities — everything you need to start your freediving day comfortably.

The hotel also has a bar where you can enjoy a coffee, snack, or light lunch after the morning session.

In the afternoon, we meet on the beach just behind the center, only a 5-minute walk away. This shallow dive spot offers calm conditions and excellent visibility — perfect for your first open water sessions.

On the final day of the course, we usually head to a deeper dive site by boat — just a 2-minute ride from the beach in front of the Surf Hotel. This allows students to comfortably reach greater depths while still enjoying safe and familiar surroundings.
